SHE RAN

Maybe they admire her or have a secret crush

Or maybe it’s the way she makes their boyfriends blush

Maybe if we look the other way it goes away

After all it’s just kids at play

And she ran, and she ran, and she ran

And she ran, and she ran, and she ran

Do they really mean it when they wish that she was dead?

Maybe it’s just all something in her head

Maybe she’s just a bit oversensitive

It’s not her fault it’s just the times we’re living in

And she ran, and she ran, and she ran

And she ran, and she ran, and she ran

If only there had been some warning signs

If only she had thought to tell us something’s wrong

If only people had opened up their ears and opened up their eyes

She never understood why they treated her unfair

Maybe it was all the colors in her hair

She won’t find out she wasn’t gonna stick around

Under dark of night she thumbed her way out of town

And she ran, and she ran, and she ran

And she ran, and she ran, and she ran
