Demos and Unreleased Tracks

Below are demos of the 12 songs that comprise Probably Not What You Expected. On some, it's just me playing acoustic guitar to a programmed beat with the vocals added overtop on another track. On others, Matt added impromptu drums, piano, bass and/or electric guitar to help fill them out, but they are all still very raw.

It's interesting to go back and listen to these now that the final, fully-produced and mixed versions of the songs are tattooed on my brain. In a few cases the lyrics and/or structures of the songs changed. I love how uncomplicated and innocent these sound. 

​

I included two additional demos of songs that did not make the album ("Are You Coming Home Tonight?" and "The Navy Brat's Hymn"). While I like both of these songs, they didn't seem to fit in with the rest of the album so we never took them any further.
